  • New Delhi Sept 7: Parliament of India on Wednesday strongly condemned The high intensity bomb blast that took place outside The Delhi ( HIGH COURT ) on Wednesday morning (today).
  • The blast until now has claimed nine lives and left more than 45 injured as confirmed by Home Secretary R K Singh.
  • Both Lok sabha and Rajya Sabha condemned The blast soon after They met for Their daily business.
  • Sources also said that The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12.30 PM today and The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2 PM to allow concerned authority and government to gaTher more facts about The blast and make a statement in that regard in later hours of The day.
  • Home MinISter P Chidambaram IS also expected to make a statement in connection with The bomb blast in Lok Sabha.
  • Chidambaram has also presided an emergency meeting with officials to assess The security situation in The capital.
  • Earlier, when The Upper House met for The day, Chairman Hamid Ansari said, “A dISturbing news has just trickled in about a bomb blast outside The Delhi ( HIGH COURT ).”
  • "There are reports of some casualties. ThIS IS something to be condemned," he said. He also added that government will make a statement in thIS concern when The facts are available.
  • "As soon as facts are available, we will request The government to share it with The House," he said, adding that it could be possible by around 2 PM and adjourned The House till Then.
  • Meanwhile, Army was deployed immediately outside The ( HIGH COURT ) premISes and a team of National Security Guards (NSG) also reached The spot to take stock of The situation.
  • A high alert has also been declared in The capital and security of all vital installations, including Parliament has been tightened
